This was, no exaggeration, the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Absolutely disgusting environment, no doubt the kitchen cleanliness would have given me nightmares. 3 steaks were ordered...2 absolutely bloody raw and the third so well done it would be waterproof as leather. Vegetables were Birdseye frozen. And to top things off when we checked the bill they charged us $1.75 for WATER. They removed this when we called them on it, but the fact that it's in their POS system leads me to believe this is a regular way of scamming unsuspecting customers. Stay away!

Vandy's has the best pizza we've had on the island by far. We usually stray from seafood at least once while visiting and it's usually for Vandy's. We used to go to Joey's until a friend said we were doing it all wrong. She was right! This time we ordered two large pizzas, both split down the middle with different toppings. So we basically had 4 pizzas. 1) plain cheese 2) pepperoni, mushroom and green pepper 3) ham and pineapple 4) pepperoni, sausage and bacon. They were all delicious and delivered in under 30 minutes. The only gripe I have is that the mushrooms were from a can. One of our friends was delighted with this since that's how she prefers them. But for me quality = freshness and fresh mushrooms would have snagged that 5th star. All in all, you won't be sad you went with Vandy's.

Ordered 4 pizzas tonight - 2 plain, 1 sausage and 1 pepperoni. Pizza was dry and cold. Sausage was ground cardboard. The sign on the wall behind the register advertised Bacio cheese. I asked bout it and the young girl behind the counter claimed it was premium cheese. I looked into it via google after and it is knock off of premium cheese from Roma a food distributor. It's the lowest grade cheese a pizza shop can buy for tourist or unsuspecting travelers from the mid west.

Not a bad pizza. Not a "Wow! That was awesome pizza". Restrooms are gross so I'd hate to see the kitchen.

Pizza was outstanding. Service was very good. Waiter was friendly and attentive. Dessert was good too. They have a kids menu, but mine had the pizza. Place was a little dark inside, but not a big deal. I would definitely go back for the pizza.

Vandy's = top notch pizza. And thin crust to boot! The "Supreme 5 Brothers Special" and the "Pepperoni and Cheese" are my go-to's while the "Artichoke Hearts Pizza" is a great vegetarian choice (looooooove artichoke hearts on my pie!). Also, Vandy's broasted chicken is a must... by the bucket! Finally, it would be misleading to talk about Vandy's without mentioning anything about sports! Vandy's the place where you go to watch the game. Any game. If they don't have it on one of their screens (#gohabsgo yay!), just ask someone and they'll put it on for you. PS. They offer free wifi... Just ask your waiter/waitress for the password when you're seated. :-)

We ordered a large pepperoni and black olive pizza for takeout. $14.75 for an 18" and $1.50 per topping. The pizza was thin crust and must have been NY style. I'm familiar w/ Chicago style and it wasn't that! The large pieces were cut into wedges and the crust was quite soft in the center. The piece flops over if you try to hold it -- better eaten w/ a fork! The outer crust was nice & chewy. Overall it was really good! We would get it again. My preference is a more crispy crust, but this style was tasty too.

Hubby ordered the broasted chicken and really liked it. The pizza was good, but nothing to rave about. It definitely was a crisp crust pizza, which I favor. Our waitress was less than attentive. Another waitress finally filled our glasses after they sat empty for half of the meal.

Great food. The pizza was awesome, gourmet. Excellent nachos. And Mike Vanderjagt came over to our table, signed my hat and was very gracious! Loved it!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
